Applications
The main methods of metal mirror polishing include mechanical polishing, chemical polishing and electrolytic polishing.
Mechanical polishing is a physical method that relies on polishing compounds and polishing machines to remove the roughness of the metal surface and achieve a mirror finish. In this process, polishing compounds containing fine abrasive particles are used in conjunction with a high-speed rotating polishing wheel to rub against the metal surface. By constantly adjusting the particle size of the polishing agent and the speed of the polishing machine, the metal surface can be gradually refined until a mirror-like finish is achieved. For example, stainless steel products are often mechanically polished to give the surface a bright mirror effect.
Chemical polishing, on the other hand, removes the unevenness of the metal surface through a chemical reaction. This method typically uses a specific chemical solution, such as an acid or alkali, to react with the metal surface to remove oxides, stains, or tiny bumps from the surface.
